Permanent Cosmetics Pre/Post Care
-
5 weeks before - No chemical peels, retinol, or retin-a. These things cause a thinning of the skin and can therefore cause you to be more sensitive. This could also result in more trauma to the skin and affect the healed results.
3 weeks before - No botox or Dysport injections. Pressure will be applied to the forehead during the procedure which can affect the results of the injections.
No tweezing, waxing, shaving, or tinting of the brows. I want to have as much natural hair to work with as possible. Tinting can affect the healing process and results.
1 week before - Avoid sun exposure. If there is any level of sunburn to the procedure area, you will need to reschedule.
2 days before - Stop use of any and all blood thinning medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin, niacin, vitamin e, fish oil, etc. Excess bleeding during the procedure can make it difficult to work and affect pigment retention. Please consult with your doctor before stopping use of any medication.
24 hours before - Do not consume any caffeine, alcohol, or smoke cigarettes. These can cause excess bleeding or high blood pressure, making it difficult to work and affecting pigment retention.
The day of - Avoid working out as this can cause elevated blood pressure. You may want to come to the appointment with freshly washed hair as you may not be able to wash it for 1 week during the healing process.

Follow all instructions for 10 days post procedure
How to cleanse and keep hydrated -
Within 1 HOUR immediately following your appointment, dab brows gently with the provided cotton round and distilled water to avoid lymphatic drainage buildup & scabbing.
Using the soap provided, wash brows by following these steps carefully:
1. Wash hands thoroughly
2.Outside of the shower, pump a small amount of foam cleanser onto fingertips and gently wipe in the direction of brow hair to simply remove oil and oozing
3. Wet fingers and gently wipe off the soap, repeating the process until all soap has been washed away
4. Gently pat brows dry with a clean paper towel or cotton round
5. Apply a small amount of healing balm to a q-tip and gently swipe onto brows (the size of a grain of rice is enough for both brows, not each)
What to avoid -
Keep brows dry aside from cleansing them morning and night for 10 DAYS. This includes showers, hot tubs, saunas, swimming, etc.
Avoid any activities that will cause sweating or an increase in blood pressure for at least 1 WEEK. Any rise in body temperature could affect the healed results.
Avoid direct sunlight. If you have to be outside, wear a hat or keep brows covered. Once they are healed, you can wear sunscreen on the brows to keep the color from fading.
No makeup, lotion, cleanser, serum, shampoo, conditioner, etc., on or around brows for 2 WEEKS. If you use skincare with active ingredients, avoid brows even once healed.
Do not disturb any flaking by picking or rubbing. avoid sleeping on your face.
-
For the first couple of days your brows will look dark and thick. This is because the pigment is oxidizing and small scabs/flakes are forming over the strokes.
After a few days the brows will begin to look patchy/flaky as the strokes are healing and new skin is growing over them.
After the flakes have come off, the brows will lighten up and almost disappear. This is because new skin has grown over the pigment, concealing it. As the skin continues to heal, the pigment will be pushed back towards the surface and the color will return.
At the 6-8 week appointment, we can address any areas where the pigment may not have taken well, and reinforce the color and shape.
